I proved a national access rule was theatre

Germany gated restaurants, gyms and events behind a negative COVID test — checked by a bouncer glancing at a screenshot. Over a weekend I rebuilt the leading test app so it always returned negative. Never released it; took it to a newspaper instead. The story ran, the mayor responded, and the real app was updated with animated result screens a screenshot can't reproduce.

Built at the German government's hackathon

At #WirVsVirus — 48 hours, ~28,000 participants, the largest hackathon held worldwide at the time — I built an app to regulate store entry while staff were still counting customers at the door by hand. It was covered by the regional newspaper, and led to a call from WDR, the public broadcaster, wanting to film it.

The official app had no home-screen widget, so I reverse-engineered Porsche's authenticated API and built my own app with live vehicle data and a widget. Porsche released the same feature about two years later.
